Last year, I was so excited to find out that a high school friend of mine had gotten engaged. We hadn't really stayed in touch over the years, and he had in fact moved to Texas years ago after his time in the Marines. But I was still so happy, and also pretty impressed that he'd found someone willing to put up with his crap for the rest of her life =).
After spending some time helping search for photographers in their area, I somehow convinced them to fly me to Texas to do the job instead. Once I arrived and met Lacey, I was instantly able to see how amazing she is, and what a wonderful couple they are together. No wedding goes perfectly smoothly. Things get stressful, and problems come up. But the only thing that seemed to matter to them was each other. It was wonderful to see, and I'm so happy I got to be involved. The whole family made me feel so welcome, and I really appreciate the time I was able to spend there.
...Aside from the weather, anyway. Did I mention my camera actually overheated at one point? It's a good thing I live where I do ;)
